Overview of Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus:
Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus, situated in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia, serves as the overseas extension of Swinburne University. Since its establishment in 2000, Swinburne Sarawak has operated in collaboration with the Sarawak State Government and Swinburne Australia. This endeavor reflects Swinburne Australia's commitment to expanding its reach globally and offering its students valuable experiences in living, working, and learning on an international scale.
History:
Due to the strong relationship between Sarawak and Australia, the State Government recognized the Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne, Australia as a suitable collaborator to meet the educational requirements of the state. In line with Swinburne Australia's long-term strategy and with the endorsement of Malaysia's Minister of Education at the time, Najib Tun Razak, the Swinburne Sarawak Institute of Technology was established in 1999. It was located within a State Office Complex building at Jalan Simpang Tiga, Kuching, Sarawak.
