Training Centre UiTM

The RIDA Training Centre was established in Petaling Jaya, Selangor (currently known as Jalan Othman satellite campus) in November 1956, with Syed Alwi Syed Sheikh Alhadi as its first principal. The center was officially opened on 14 February 1957 by Ismail Abdul Rahman, the Minister for Trade and Industry.

It offered a wide range of programs, including pre-university courses, business skills training, and external professional courses accredited by prestigious international bodies such as the London Chamber of Commerce, the Australian Chartered Secretaryship, the Australian Society of Accountants, and the British Institute of Management.

With the formation of the Federation of Malaysia in 1963, the training center started admitting local students from Sabah and Sarawak, and expanded its academic offerings. In 1964, the RIDA Training Centre held its first convocation, where 50 graduates were honored with certificates presented by Tun Abdul Razak, the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia.
