In the year 2000, the College of Nyíregyháza came into existence through the amalgamation of the György Bessenyei Teachers Training College (founded in 1962) and the Nyíregyháza Agricultural College Faculty of the Agricultural University of Gödöll? (established in 1961). Over the years, the college, with its five diverse faculties, has evolved into an institution adept at fulfilling the demands and aspirations of the 21st century. Notably, recent years have witnessed remarkable academic and infrastructural advancements, firmly establishing the institution's name and reputation across the entire nation.

These five faculties engage in research and provide education in fields encompassing arts, education, social studies, economics, fine arts, technology, agriculture, and science. With a wide array of 33 undergraduate courses and 60 specializations, complemented by 9 post-graduate training options, 1 specialized subject, 22 additional training courses, and 20 post-secondary training programs, the College of Nyíregyháza is dedicated to comprehensive education.

• The Stipendium Hungaricum:- Scholarship Program was initiated in 2013 under the auspices of the Hungarian Government.
