Overview About Wawasan Open UniversityWawasan Open University, is a prestigious private university nestled in the vibrant city of Penang, Malaysia. It offers a unique opportunity for working adults to pursue higher education through open distance learning (ODL).
Established in 2006, the institution welcomed its inaugural group of students in 2007. Taking a step further in September 2013, WOU expanded its offerings to include full-time degree programs for STPM school leavers and diploma holders at its Main Campus in Penang.
Campus:
The northeastern part of Penang Island, Malaysia is where the university's main campus is situated, right by the sea. Comprising two buildings, the main campus includes a heritage mansion named Homestead and the contemporary 12-storey Al-Bukhary Building. Apart from the main campus in Penang, WOU has established four regional centers in Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru, and Kuching to cater to the needs of its distance learners residing in and around those cities. Additionally, there are two smaller regional support centers located in Bandar Utama and Klang.

The Bursary Award is applicable to new undergraduate and postgraduate students based on the criteria shown below:
Diploma / Graduate Certificate / Bachelor's Degree / Postgraduate Diploma
- Minimum enrolment of 8 credit hours in the first term
Master's Degree
- Minimum 6 credit hours in the first term
Gross Basic Income
- Single: RM6,000 and below per month
- Married: RM12,000 and below per month

- Married: RM12,000 and below per month
WOU Scholarship - Partial Award (RM10,000 / RM5,000 / 50% for School of Digital Technology)
